Dear Families,

I’m writing to let you know that I am delighted with how the term has started; our children and teachers are really throwing themselves into the new era for our outstanding school.

I am pleased with the calmness around the school and enjoy going into all classes on a daily basis, looking at some wonderful pieces of work that our children are producing. We have made successful changes to our approach on displays, staff dress code and systems for moving children around the school, I can confidently say our school and its procedures are becoming more consistent.

The new collection process in the playground for Key Stage 2 children is safer and more organised; this change has been well received by parents, children and teachers, I would like to thank everyone for cooperating fully with this change to our practice.

“Meet the Teacher” evening was extremely well attended by parents; our new approach of doing this ensured that our parents had more time in their child’s classroom and a better opportunity to speak directly to the class teacher. This is now going to be a regular feature and hopefully this will ensure that you are better informed about what will be happening in your child’s class.

“Meet the new Head Teacher” meetings were also well attended and this gave me an opportunity to let you know a little more about who I am and what I stand for as your new Head Teacher. So once again, thank you for supporting these meetings in such high numbers.

I am determined that parents are fully informed about the excellent things that go on at Redbridge Primary School and would like to continue building on our partnership, ensuring children who come here gain an excellent start and continue to flourish in their educational experiences, with this in mind, I am also keen to engage parents in the life of the school via the parents’ forum meetings, our curriculum workshops (held at convenient times for all parents), school newsletters and regular updates posted on our website, the creation of a parents hub room in the school, building stronger relationships between the school and PTA, achievement assemblies which parents are invited to, and ensuring my senior leaders and I are accessible to you in the mornings and after school in the playground.

I am very much looking forward to working with you and your children; together we will make sure that Redbridge Primary School definitely reaches for the stars and beyond.

Best wishes,

Mr Steve Davies

Head Teacher
