As of September 2020, it is the legal requirement of Primary Schools – both maintained and Academies to teach Relationships and Health Education. This will be taught alongside the Science National Curriculum and within the context of safeguarding in accordance with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance (DfE, Sept, 2020).

Here at Redbridge Primary School we have been working hard behind the scenes for the last 12 months to develop our approach and materials in preparation for the launch of our newly designed PSHRE (Personal Social Health Relationship Education) curriculum in September 2021. We are very excited to share these plans with you as we whole heartedly believe that these changes will greatly benefit our children. In order to finalise our plans, we now want to seek views from stakeholders within our community.
