At  Futurestars Childcare, we believe that each child must be given the opportunity to achieve and be included. All children access a full range of activities to develop and learn through play. We acknowledge that some children with SEND may require extra support in order to access the activities provided. We are committed to work alongside parents and carers to share information useful to support their child’s development while at the club

What is Breakfast Club?
It is a provision which provides childcare before school begins. Children are taken care by qualified staff from 7:30am until it is time for them to go to the classes. Children have the opportunity to be with a friends participate in games and an opportunity to have a healthy breakfast with their peers.

What is an After-School Club?
This is a service that comes into play when the school day ends children are collected from their respective classes and brought to the club. Children have an opportunity to participate in indoor and outdoor activities, group games, or do their homework until they are collected by their parents.

Monday to Friday from 3.30pm to 6.15pm.

What does the clubs offer?
Both the Breakfast and After-school club offer a range of activities to cover all areas of child development. This includes social, physical, emotional, intellectual creative and educational requirements; which are delivered in an interactive stimulating and fun environment for example educational games board games puzzles snooker reading writing storytelling and arts and crafts.
Outdoor activities are also provided at the After-School Club. These are held in the school playground some outdoor activities include basketball, badminton, Treasure hunts, Cricket Football Free play.
Outdoor activities are not provided at breakfast club for health and safety reasons.
After School Club offers opportunity for children to do their homework under the supervision of experience and qualified staff. There is also a quiet corner for the children to sit and read the books and generally relax.
Are children offered food/snack at the clubs?
Yes, at Breakfast club children have the opportunity to choose from a selection of healthy food options- Including non-sugary cereals, yoghurt, toast snack bars, fresh fruit juices and milk.
Similarly After-school Club offers a variety of snack including sandwiches with a selection of fillings, Beans on Toast, yoghurt, fresh fruit/veg, juices and milk,
Biscuits, cakes and other high sugar containing food are limited to celebration days such as birthdays and festivals.
Staff employed at club?
Staffs are qualified to NVQ level 3 or 2 in Childcare. Each Club has a coordinator who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the club. Who is supported by and one or two play workers. All staff has undergone full CRB checks. All staff has extensive experi.ence of work in similar environment. In addition at least one member of staff holds a first Aid certificate at each club.

Staff to child ratio of 1:8 under 8
Staff to child ratio 1:10 over 8
How do children get to the club?
Breakfast club Children
It is the responsibility of parents to ensure that the child is safely dropped off and signed in at arrival. Register is taken before children are escorted to the classes by club staff.

After-school Club Children
From infant school (Reception/Year 1/Year 2) children are collected from the classroom by members of the club staff from where they are escorted to the club premises.
Children in the juniors (Year 3/Year 4 / Year 5 / Year 6) usually walk themselves to a meeting point, where they are collected by staff.

What happened upon arrival of the children to the club?
All children are entered into a daily registered together with the time of arrival. Children remain at the club until the parent or carer collects them.
After registration children are encouraged to participate in various activities provided on a daily basis. The room is set up for children to freely move from one activity to another For more information on the type of activities available, please ask a member of club stuff or visit the club.
How much does it cost?

• A Registration /Joining fee is at £15.00
• All Fees are payable in advance- 1st of every month, Walk in and Casual booking are payable upfront on the day.
• 2 weeks Deposit is required to secure a place
• Sibling discount is available on the Afterschool Club.
• Members are to give 3 weeks written notice to withdraw from the clubs.

What about Quality?
The club undergoes formal inspection by OFSTED.
Redbridge Borough Early Years Team also carries out spot inspections. In addition staff are expected to participate in continual professional development programmes and further training to ensure that they are kept up to date with latest legislation with regards to childcare.
